Homemade Face Masks

NATURAL. What is natural really? By definition, it’s “existing in or caused by nature; not made or caused by humankind.”  So in my day to day I’ve been trying to move more towards natural ways of life. I’m seriously sick and tired of all the chemical ridden & who knows what the hell is in the things we do every day. Our food, household products, feminine hygiene products, soaps, beauty products, baby products… to name a few.img_1803-1 Every where we turn there is a new item on the market promising that’s it’s better than the last. Nature doesn’t have to be altered and changed to make it better, it’s already in it’s perfect form. Anyways, because of this I decided to make small changes in the things I use. One of the things I started with was doing face masks made from things in my kitchen.
I tried to get my daughter Riley to do a face mask with me but she wasn’t into the idea of mashed banana on her face…..  I have no idea why. So instead she helped me make my mask, and then we grabbed some craft paper and sequins and got to making her a mask that was a little less slimy…. check out the video & recipe below of Riley making a face mask out of banana, turmeric powder, and baking soda.

Recipe:

• 1 ripe banana

• 1 Tbl. Turmeric Powder

• 1 Tbl. Baking Soda

1. Mash banana, add turmeric & baking soda. Combine.

2. Rub onto your clean face, and let sit for about 15 min.

3. Rinse off with warm water (NOT HOT)

Repeat 2-3 times a week.
